An Amazing Year 12 Retreat 2022 On April 6 to 8 Year 12 attended their final senior retreat at Mulgoa. Students were able to have a bit of fun, but also stop the busyness of school, work and family life, and reflect on life. The retreat explored the theme of “journey” and focused on the scripture from the prophet Jeremiah 29:11 “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope”. Some of the retreat evaluation comments included from year 12 students included: “Ms Murray’s session gave me reassurance that even though I don’t know exactly where my future is headed that is ok and I feel encouraged to take opportunities that arise”. “With Mrs D’Arcy’s session, thinking about my future and not being afraid to make choices as they can lead to new opportunities but also weighing the potential effects of those choices”. “I loved the Mrs Smith’s presentation and I found it comforting to hear her talk about the different connections we will make but also I liked her advice on making sure to stay in contact with your friends because that is how you stay together. I think this will help me after I leave school”. “I feel like it was a good chance to be away from the busyness of life and technology. So I was able to reflect and focus on my faith”. “The mass that we had engaged me more than any other previous masses I have attended. It allowed me to understand my faith more and realise the importance of my belief in God” “I particularly found the closing mass a time when I was able to fully become closer connected to God through hearing his word, as well as through the Priest’s homily which I really resonated with”. A big thank you to the teachers who attended and contributed to the various parts of the retreat. Miss Betts, Mrs Morgan, Mrs Timp, Mrs Murray, Mrs Kemmis, Mrs D’Arcy, and Mrs O’Halloran. The feedback from the retreat demonstrated that all aspects played a significant part in creating an amazing experience for our girls. Thank you |
