VET / TAFE Course Integration

A number of students at Mercy College undertake Vocation and Educational Training (VET) through Technical and Further Education (TAFE) providers.

Students may select, as part of their Higher School Certificate pattern of study, a VET course, delivered by TAFE.

During the two years of study in Years 11 and 12, successful completion of the course will usually count towards the total number of units required to be studied in the senior years and will generally secure a Certificate 2 attainment for the Course.

Students interested in studying a VET course in Years 11 and 12 will need to speak with the Curriculum/VET Coordinator for advice.

Annua fees apply for enrolment into VET courses.

VET Courses:

  • Business Studies
  • Hospitality
  • Entertainment
  • Tourism
  • Information Technology

Every effort is made to enrol a student in a TAFE close to home as often classes finish late in the evening.

Students will also be required to participate in Work Placement of 30 hours each year.
