Mercy Outreach Day 2017

11 September 2017

To end a fantastic Mercy Week, Friday September 1, was Mercy Outreach Day.

This is the one time of year when the whole College Community undertakes some form of Social Justice or Community Service activity or workshop.

Year 7 spent the morning with Catholic Mission and the afternoon decorating their socks for Sock-it-to Poverty Day later next term. Year 8 were challenged with workshops from Amnesty International and Caritas. Years 9-12 went out into the community. Some assisted in primary schools others sold Legacy badges around Chatswood. The seniors worked in soup kitchens from Kings Cross to Woy Woy or helped prepare food for Vinnies Night Patrol. There were also the visits and performances in Aged Care centres as well as St Vincent de Paul shops and warehouse.

It was a day filled with thinking about others, giving back to the community and realising how lucky we all are.
