Success at the regional Shakespeare Carnival

10 June 2017

This year Mercy entered the Sport for Jove Shakespeare Carnival for the first time. Many girls have spent lunch times working on performances for various categories of the competition. Claudia B,    Elizabeth F and Codie H of Year 9 were chose from this group of amazing young ladies to represent our school in the regional carnival. The regional carnival was held on Monday the 22nd May at Barker     College. The girls were competing against many schools from the Northern region.

After an energetic warm-up with Sport for Jove Theatre Company the girls were the first on stage. They presented a dance that expressively told the story of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. After watching the interesting and incredible work of their competition it was time for the judges to announce the winners.

Claudia, Elizabeth and Codie placed 1st in their category with Abbotsleigh coming a close second. They are now off to the state carnival at the Seymour Centre in June. We wish them all the best at the state carnival. Break a leg girls!
