The Australian Catholic Youth Festival

30 May 2017

ACYF 2017

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) is a national gathering of Catholic young people established by the Australian Catholic Bishop’s Conference (ACBC). It will be hosted by Sydney at Olympic Park from the 7 – 9 December 2017. Mercy Catholic College will be looking to have many students from Year 9 – 12 in attendance at this exciting and faith filled event. The festival provides young people with opportunities to deepen their relationship with Jesus, be empowered to be disciples in the world today and encounter and celebrate the vitality of the Church in Australia. Students will have the opportunity to engage with local examples of social action, liturgy and prayer, catholic music and catechesis.

Some initial details about ACFY are below:

December 7 – 9, 2017

Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush

The invitation is open to any student from Year 7 – 12 to attend.

Registration for ACYF is $250, train transport for 3 days is included but the cost of meals is not. Registrations are due by Monday 7 August, 2017.

To provide students with an encounter with Christ and the broader Australian Catholic Church, in order for students to discern their own faith journeys. The ACYF is a festival designed to be a party atmosphere! There will be fun activities as well as a range of challenging workshops and resentations. It is an opportunity for students to express and explore their faith no matter where they are on The Way.

On Wednesday 7 June, Mercy College will hold a Mini-Festival at lunchtime to launch ACYF. Students who are interested will be able to register their interest in attending ACYF on the day. Expression of Interest Forms and Student Information Packs will also be available for students to collect.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions about registering your daughter for ACYF.
