Co-curricular Activities

Blue and Gold Award

The programme was developed to encourage involvement across a wide range of Mercy activities, allowing students the opportunity to graduate from any Year level at Mercy College with a Blue and Gold Award.

Student Requirements

  • involvement in co-curricular activities
  • involvement in social justice service activities within and outside the College community.
  • record all activities and involvement in a journal signed by relevant staff

Based on year’s commitment to the following

Co-curricular Involvement

Belong to at least one school based enrichment club - writing, science, art, maths etc with at least 90% participation expected.


Represent the College in a sporting team or in the College Band, the College Choir, debating, Tournament of Minds, Liturgical Ensemble etc.

Social Justice Involvement

Assist in at least one school based social justice activity eg assist in the Homework Club, Library Monitor, Mercy Action, Reader for special needs students, Peer Support programme etc with at least 90% participation expected.


Complete one wider community involvement activity e.g charity collection; Eucharistic Minister in parish etc.

If students meet all requirements at the end of a Year of education then they will be eligible to be presented at Awards Night (or Graduation Night for Year 12) with:

  • a Blue and Gold Award and an inscribed book
  • a Blue and Gold Award bar to be worn on their uniform for each year attained.

How to Apply

Students can either nominate themselves or be nominated by a teacher or parent. All application forms must be submitted to Mr Regoli.
